“All truly great thoughts are conceived while walking.”
Friedrich Nietzsche, Twilight of the Idols
Nordic Walking - one of the three new sports disciplines at the ORLEN OLYMPICS 2019. It is based on a march with special poles. The Nordic Walking march is a movement with alternating work of arms and legs, at the same time repelling sticks at an acute angle while maintaining constant contact of at least one foot with the ground. The phase in which both feet do not touch the ground is forbidden. Using the correct walking technique involves applying force to the poles on both sides, thanks to which the muscles of the hands work more than on a regular walk.
Nordic Walking will be organized on the same route as the 5 km run taking place as part of the ORLEN OLYMPICS 2019, and its participants will start after the participants of the run from the start zones located at June 7, 1991 Street
The organizer will have a limited number of Nordic Walking poles, so it is advisable to secure the poles on your own.
We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the Nordic Walking Regulations to find out more organizational details and rules of the Competition.
